The radar surveillance system of the Ministry of National Defence detected, Monday evening, August 24, 2026, two aerial targets near the Island of the Serbs, which were evolving towards the border of Romania. Two F-18 aircraft of the Spanish Air Force and Space took off from Base 57 Mihail Kogălniceanu Air Force to monitor the situation.

The radar systems of the MApN detected the two targets at 22.37, approximately 25 kilometres north-west of the Island of the Serbs. They evolved to the border of Romania.
