The Twint payment app introduces direct debit from 2027 onwards. The new offer is intended to offer an alternative to the classic direct debit method LSV+.
Direct debit solutions are still very popular: in 2025, almost 55 million transactions have been carried out via LSV+ for private customers and BDD for corporate transactions. As of 2027, recurring invoices can be settled more easily with Twint. The payment platform launches the new direct debit offer. Twint is not the first company to present a possible successor solution to the soon to be discontinued direct debit procedure.
Next year, the Twint payment app launches a digital direct debit procedure. Customers set up mandates via QR code, payments run automatically – without paperwork. Twint thus competes with the eBill system.
