Everton Star Undergoes Medical as Toffees Green Light Big Wage Deal
On Tuesday, Everton agreed to a season-long loan deal for Manchester City winger Jack Grealish, with the move expected to be completed before the 23:00 BST transfer deadline.
Everton secured the winger after becoming the only club prepared to cover around 90 per cent of his wages, with Grealish preferring a return to the Toffees over boyhood club Aston Villa.
During his previous loan, Grealish scored twice and provided six assists in 20 appearances before a January foot injury ended his campaign; he made two appearances for Manchester City this season.
The Toffees are simultaneously pursuing other business, with winger Iliman Ndiaye expected to complete a £65m transfer to City and the club closing in on Monaco forward Folarin Balogun in a £40m deal.
This move offers Grealish a final realistic opportunity to re-establish himself as a major Premier League player, while Everton defender Nathan Patterson could depart for Serie A side Torino before the deadline closes.
