The Supreme Court on Monday declined to advance the hearing of pleas challenging the pendency of appeals linked to the special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in West Bengal, ahead of the October 6 bypolls in Nandigram and Rejinagar.
The Supreme Court has refused an immediate hearing in the SIR case related to the voter list in West Bengal. The petitioners had sought an early hearing citing the Rajnagar and Nandigram by-elections scheduled for October 6th, but the court rejected their request and set the hearing date for October 5th.
This is what was observed to be happening only as by-elections.
