By-elections for the Nandigram and Rejinagar assembly constituencies in West Bengal are scheduled for October 6.

The October 6 by-polls are in the Rejinagar and Nandigram assembly constituencies in Bengal. According to the counsel who pleaded for urgent listing, 'there are more than 18,000 appeals pending.;

The counsel told the court that unless the appeals were decided before the by-polls, affected voters would miss voting for a second time, having already been unable to vote in the April Assembly elections while their electoral-roll claims remained unresolved.
