IIT Delhi Student Dies by Suicide After Jumping From 6th Floor of Building at Campus: Police
Police are examining the student’s phone and counselling records after no suicide note was found, while forensic teams collect evidence from the campus.
On Saturday morning, a 31-year-old MSc Physics student allegedly died by suicide after jumping from the sixth floor of a building at the IIT Delhi campus.
According to police, the student entered the IIT through the main gate at 8 am and proceeded to the lecture hall complex before jumping from the sixth floor.
Police recovered a mobile phone from the deceased's pocket and are obtaining counselling records from the IIT administration; no suicide note was found at the scene.
Separately, on Friday, a 19-year-old BSc Nursing student allegedly died by suicide in her hostel room in the Rajinder Nagar area; fellow students took her to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital.
The Sir Ganga Ram Hospital administration stated it was "deeply shocked and concerned" regarding the incident and is cooperating with the Rajinder Nagar Police Station investigation.
