Swedish 15-year-olds have never had such poor knowledge in mathematics, reading comprehension and science, according to the Pisa survey. In reading comprehension, ninth-graders have lost knowledge equivalent to one year of learning.
The knowledge decline for Swedish students is sharp in the latest Pisa survey. Overall, they have never been so poor in mathematics, reading comprehension and science in any Pisa survey in the last 25 years. “It is a broad decline in results that is very worrying,” says Christina Månberg, acting director general at the Swedish National Agency for Education.
