The announcement was made by the Foreign Minister of Ghana alongside the Indian counterpart. The bloc, created in 2009, has grown with countries of the Global South.
South Africa joined shortly after the group was founded in 2009, and more recently Ethiopia, Iran and Indonesia joined.
