German companies are as confident about business as they have been for years. This is shown by a current Ifo survey. Even in the automotive industry, confidence is growing again.
The mood in the German export industry is brightening significantly. Companies benefit from high AI investments and booming exports to EU countries.
The ifo business climate index rose for the fourth time in a row in August – by a substantial 2.1 counter to 88.8 points. "This has been a surprise," says ifo business head Timo Wollmershäuser in conversation with Dietmar Deffner.
