Forty-seven of Russia’s 50 top universities have urged students to sign contracts with the Defense Ministry, according to a study by the independent Russian news outlet Novaya Gazeta Europe.
The publication came to this conclusion by studying the list of the best Russian universities in the 2026 version of Raex and by analysing reports on the websites and social media of the educational institutions themselves, as well as information from students and data published in the media.
At least 47 of Russia's top 50 universities, students have campaigned to conclude a contract with the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation. 32 schools also have training in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), which has been identified by the New Europe. 43 schools have campaigned to sign a contract in campuses, while four more have been recruited in branch offices, while New Europe has not been able to find publicly available …
