The vegetation fire that was declared near a camping site required a massive emergency response and resulted in the evacuation of hundreds of people.
About 150 firefighters were mobilised on a fire that broke out in a field in Guérande in the Loire-Atlantique on Thursday 13 August, at the place called the Clos Joly. The campsite of Domaine de Leveno, located not far from there and which welcomes more than 2,000 tourists has been vacated preventively.
Two thousand people were evacuated from a campsite in western France on Thursday due to a threatening vegetation fire, local authorities said. Meanwhile, in the southwest of the country, a forest fire is forcing the evacuation of about 400 residents.
A vegetation fire ran over ten hectares on Thursday, August 13 at the exit of Guérande (Loire-Atlantique). It took in a field near an industrial area and a campsite and is now fixed. Residents of the establishment have been evacuated.
