One of the two suspects in the two femicides committed in the Saint-Michel district between Saturday and Monday will face justice. Kerline Jean's alleged murderer will appear on Friday at the Montreal courthouse. The other suspect, potentially involved in the murder of Leakkhena Seng, died in the hospital.

The suspect of the first of the two femicides that occurred in 48 hours died, while the second was arrested by Montreal police officers.

The only suspect in the weekend’s killing of Leakkhena Seng in St‑Michel was her presumed partner, who tried to suicide. He has since died. The only suspect in Monday’s homicide also turned his knife on himself, but has recovered and will be charged Friday with killing Kerline Jean.
