Iran has executed two men convicted of killing four members of the security forces during protests in Mashhad in January, after their convictions were upheld by the Supreme Court.
Ali Hemmati Sistani, son of Hassan, and Majid Nikandish, son of Mohammad Ebrahim, were activists and leaders of the unrest in Tabarsi, Mashhad. They were arrested by officers and, after conducting an investigation by the prosecutor, were introduced to the judicial system.
