One of the country’s most ambitious and costly armament programs, “Achilles’ Shield,” continues to be a hot topic of discussion. The reason for this was the crucial issue of access to the “source code” of the Command and Control system. The source code of the “Achilles Shield” program will remain under exclusive Greek control, according to a statement by a spokesman for the Israeli Ministry of Defense. “In accordance with the “Achilles Shield” agreement, the Israeli Ministry of Defense and the Greek Ministry of National Defense agreed to transfer Israeli know-how to the Greek companies participating in the program.
The allegations made in recent days regarding the source code supporting Israel's operating systems are not related to the Achilles Shield agreement, the statement said.
