Election 2026: Davis’ vote against tax cuts, says ad, hurts working families
Democratic Representative Don Davis of North Carolina voted against eliminating taxes on overtime, tips, and for Social Security beneficiaries, making it a campaign focus for his 2026 re-election.
An advertisement criticized Davis for voting against the Working Families Tax Cut, which lowered taxes on overtime and affected workers needing extra income.
The vote took place during U.S. House roll call vote No. 145 on May 22, 2025, where Davis and other North Carolina Democrats voted against the proposal.
The American Action Network is spending $22 million nationwide on an advocacy campaign supporting the tax cuts and accused Davis of opposing one of the largest tax cuts in American history.
