Dearborn Co Costume Swap Returns

Summary
(Photo Courtesy: Dearborn County Recycling Center) (Aurora, IN) – The Dearborn County Recycling Center is hosting its 17th annual Costume Swap event this month. Starting today (October 2) through October 30, the Costume Swap will be open on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 1-6 p.m., with the exception of Monday, October 12, on which the Recycling Center will be closed for Columbus Day. This annual event encourages reuse and reduces waste by giving costumes a second life. Last year, over 1,100 participants took part in the program, saving money and keeping single-use items out of landfills. Over 1,000 costumes for children and adults, plus a wide selection of masks, wigs, makeup, accessories, treat bags, décor and even a few pet costumes are available. All items are clean, in good condition, and many are brand new. Sizes range from infant to adult. Participants are encouraged to bring a clean, complete costume in ready-to-wear condition.

All items are clean, in good condition, and many are brand new. Sizes range from infant to adult. Participants are encouraged to bring a clean, complete costume in ready-to-wear condition. Costumes should be free of rips, tears, and stains, and include all original accessories, such as masks and props. If you don’t have a costume to swap, a minimum monetary donation is requested to support the program and help restock after Halloween. Shopping times and guest capacity may be limited to ensure a smooth experience. Costume Swap is open to everyone, not just Dearborn County residents. Center officials say this is a reuse program and not a charity, and you should be prepared to donate if your costume is not accepted. For more details, visit dearborncountyrecycles.com.
