D'Angelo Russell Agrees To Deal With Shanghai Sharks
The veteran guard is reportedly leaving the NBA after 11 seasons and averaged 17 points, 3.3 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game.
Former NBA All-Star D'Angelo Russell is joining the Shanghai Sharks ahead of the Chinese Basketball Association's upcoming season, the league announced Wednesday.
After acquiring the 30-year-old guard from the Washington Wizards in a July trade, the Memphis Grizzlies waived Russell last week.
Russell departs the Association after 11 seasons, having appeared in 655 games with career shooting averages of 42.7 percent from the field and 36.3 percent from deep.
Winning their first championship since Yao Ming 24 years ago, the Shanghai Sharks look to build on their 2025-26 success with this acquisition.
Joining a roster featuring former NBA player Brandon Goodwin, Russell follows notable predecessors including Gilbert Arenas, Michael Beasley, Eric Bledsoe, and Delonte West.
