Ministry of Education and about 30 school principals from Lisbon arrived this Monday at a solution for students who were still waiting for placement, through its distribution by already existing classes. However, there are still problems in other councils, where hundreds of students remain vacant in public education.
The emergency meeting between the principals of schools in Lisbon and the Ministry of Education has ended. Classes will be extended to accommodate students who had no space.
Directors and ministry met and found a solution. Guardianship does not help how many students are still without placement, but admits opening new classes, reorganizing spaces or increasing students per class.
The Ministry of Education and the groups of schools in Lisbon met in emergency after the controversy generated by the lack of vacancies in public institutions, which left several students without placement at the start of the school year. The solution found is to increase the number of students per class, open new classes and reorganize spaces.
