Clarets complete signing of ex-Sheffield United defender Anel Ahmedhodžić
The 27-year-old centre-back returns to England on a four-year deal as Burnley add depth after a summer push to strengthen defense.
Burnley confirmed the signing of defender Anel Ahmedhodzic from Feyenoord, with the 27-year-old centre-back signing a four-year deal with the Clarets.
The Bosnian international returns to the Championship after leaving Bramall Lane last summer, having helped Sheffield United win promotion to the Premier League in 2023.
"I'm really happy to be here," Ahmedhodzic said, noting his excitement to return to the Championship and his familiarity with Turf Moor's atmosphere.
Manager Nicky Hayen bolstered central defense this summer, previously signing Manchester City loanee Max Alleyne and now adding Ahmedhodzic to a squad including Hjalmar Ekdal, Joe Worrall, and Bashir Humphreys.
Burnley continues pursuing reinforcements, with links to Toulouse centre-back Mark McKenzie and ZagB midfielder Marcel Regula, while fans hope Zian Flemming remains amid interest from Everton and Lille.
Anel Ahmedhodžić is leaving Feyenoord after just one year. The 27-year-old Bosnian central defender has been sold to Burnley FC, the Rotterdam football club reports. Burnley were relegated from the Premier League in England last season.
