In Germany, the Wagenknecht party wants to oppose aid to Ukraine together with the AfD. The BSW in Saxony-Anhalt is counting on the support of the AfD to block military aid to Ukraine through the Bundesrat. Wagenknecht called for not providing funds.
Around one third of the people in Germany are opposed to further support from Ukraine in its defence struggle against Russia. In Saxony-Anhalt, the BSW apparently hopes for the votes of such voters and announces a punctual cooperation with the AfD.
If the AfD were to become responsible for the government for the first time next Sunday, the consequences would be dramatic – also for the party itself. Internally, there are doubts as to whether its own people would be up to the task.

In Germany, the so-called “Alliance for Common Sense and Justice” (BSW) announced “selective cooperation” with the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party.
BSW in Saxony-Anhalt intends to put to the vote a resolution against assistance to Ukraine and looks forward to support for AfD, although there is no formal agreement between the parties.
