In a message issued at 2 pm, the President of India stated that the Prime Minister of Bangladesh would be arriving in Delhi and, in order to welcome him, the "Change of the Guard" ceremony would not be held at the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan on Saturday, August 22. However, just an hour later, Rashtrapati Bhavan retracted this statement.
