Duran Nets Again as Celtic Maintain Perfect Start
Celtic stayed perfect in the William Hill Premiership as Duran scored his sixth goal in five matches and Nygren added another before halftime.
On Wednesday, September 2, 2026, Celtic continued their perfect start to the William Hill Premiership season with a 3-0 victory over Aberdeen, with Camilo Duran opening the scoring.
The Colombian, who joined from Qarabag during the summer, thumped a 20-yard strike in the 14th minute, marking his sixth goal in five matches since arriving.
Benjamin Nygren doubled the lead in the 34th minute after a deflection off Aberdeen midfielder Afeez Aremu, while Yang Hyun-jun drilled home a third with his left foot before halftime.
Aberdeen manager Stephen Robinson made four halftime substitutions to stem the tide, while Celtic manager Martin O'Neill introduced new signings Danish midfielder Oliver Sorensen and on-loan Chelsea forward Shim Mheuka.
With fellow centre-forward Kasper Hogh recovering from a thigh injury, O'Neill faces a selection dilemma, as Duran has proven difficult to remove from the starting lineup during his absence.
