On Thursday, voters within the Fort Plain and Canajoharie school districts took to the polls again, to discuss a proposed merger. According to the districts, residents voted against the merger, for a second time, in a straw poll.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY — Voters in the Canajoharie and Fort Plain school districts rejected a proposed merger in an advisory referendum on Thursday, by a wider margin than a 2025 defeat.
