Canada's inclusion will allow Ukraine to buy weapons from Canadian defence companies and bypass the "Made in Europe" requirements. In turn, Ottawa will have to pay a proportional share of the annual interest.

Even if Canada helps the EU with its loan to Ukraine, it still needs to follow Norway's lead and provide direct financial support to Ukraine, said European Commission spokesperson Balazs Ujvari.
Country is considering taking part in the European Union's loan.
