Brighton Players Pay Cost of Game Tickets for Their Fans Traveling to Arctic Circle for Playoff
Brighton’s players will cover ticket costs and give 407 traveling supporters scarves and T-shirts as thanks for the long trip.
Brighton & Hove Albion players are covering ticket costs for 407 fans traveling to the Arctic Circle for Thursday's UEFA Conference League playoff against Norwegian team Tromso.
This two-legged playoff in northern Norway marks the club's first competitive match of the season, following an eighth-place Premier League finish that qualified Brighton for Europe's third tier.
Supporters will receive refunds after the match, along with complimentary scarves and t-shirts, recognizing the last-minute travel arrangements required for the Arctic journey.
Brighton captain Lewis Dunk said the gesture recognizes fans' commitment, stating "We want to start the season off well for the fans" through this collective action.
Following the European fixture, Brighton begins its Premier League campaign at home against Aston Villa on August 23, 2026, launching the competitive domestic season.
