BRICS Pay will facilitate cross-border digital payments in local currencies by connecting the existing national payment systems of member and partner countries, allowing travellers, students and businesses to transfer money more quickly, BRICS Pay CEO Andrey Mikhaylishin told ANI on Thursday.
BRICS is working to reduce its dependence on the dollar by integrating trade in local currencies and digital payment systems. Options such as UPI, CBDC, and net settlement are being discussed.
BRICS countries have reached an agreement on BRICS Pay, a reporter of the Kremlin pool, Alexander Yunashev, the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RPFI), a special representative of Russian President Kirill Dmitriyri.
