‘Bloody’ altercation in Otero County jail leaves one hospitalized, another charged with attempted first-degree murder - Bent County Democrat

A bloody altercation at the Otero County Detention Center, that authorities said was caught on camera, resulted in one inmate, David Joseph Hernandez Jr., 33, being charged with attempted first-degree murder, among other charges, after allegedly beating a fellow inmate, a 47-year-old man, leaving him with a lacerated liver, a gluteal hematoma and comminuted facial fractures, on Tuesday, Aug. 4, records show.
