Crypto Market Cap Retakes $3T as Bitcoin, Altcoins Rally
Bitcoin and major altcoins rose as nearly $1 billion flowed into US spot Bitcoin ETFs and derivatives open interest neared $160 billion, analysts said.
- On Tuesday, the total cryptocurrency market cap climbed back above $3 trillion as Bitcoin traded near $86,000, extending a broad rally across major digital assets.
- Bitcoin ETFs drew nearly $1 billion on Monday, the largest single-day inflow since late last year, while Coinglass reported more than $920 million in bearish positions were liquidated as prices surged.
- Major altcoins also posted gains, with Ether rising about 2.3% to $2,745, XRP climbing 5.7% to $1.53, Solana advancing 3.6% to $117, BNB gaining 1.6%, and Dogecoin rising about 11%.
- Ranked 208th, Akedo's AKE token gained about 170% to reach a roughly $1.2 billion market cap, emerging as one of the week's biggest movers among smaller cryptocurrencies.
- According to Coinglass, perpetual futures open interest has surged to almost $160 billion, marking its highest level since late October last year, while analyst James Check suggested the Bitcoin cycle bottom may already be in at $58,000.
