Bitmine Climbs 6% as Ethereum Extends Rally After SEC Tokenization Order; Sharplink Rises 5%, Coinbase Jumps 6%
The order creates a regulated path for tokenized U.S. stocks and traders say the move is boosting demand for Ethereum-linked crypto assets.
On September 17, the SEC issued a five-year exemption creating a regulated pathway for tokenized representations of U.S. stocks, enabling trading venues to issue tokenized equities effective immediately.
Following the regulatory order, Ethereum surged 5.7% to $2,727, while Bitmine Immersion Technologies and Coinbase each jumped 6% as markets anticipated on-shore tokenized equity rollouts.
Strategy resumed Bitcoin purchases after a two-week pause, acquiring 950 BTC for $75.7 million while simultaneously deploying $174 million to repurchase STRC preferred stock.
With holdings reaching 5,983,940 tokens, Bitmine expanded its Ethereum treasury by 27,562 ETH and projects roughly $357 million in annual staking revenue at current yields.
Chairman Tom Lee will deliver a keynote at Korea Blockchain Week on September 30, discussing crypto fundamentals and tokenization as potential catalysts for institutional investor participation.
