Binance Launches Agent OS for AI-Powered Crypto Trading
The platform links agents to Binance APIs, sub-accounts and payment tools, with users setting permissions and limits for autonomous trading.
- On Thursday, Binance launched Agent OS, a developer platform enabling AI-powered Agents to analyze markets and execute trades for more than 300 million Users across crypto and traditional markets.
- Users can assign Agents to dedicated sub-accounts to segregate funds and configure specific transaction permissions. Jeff Li, VP of Product at Binance, said, "We put at the account level to protect the users' funds."
- Compatible with OpenAI's ChatGPT and Anthropic's Claude Code, the platform supports autonomous trading and payments. Jeff said this was Binance's "first step" toward building AI-powered applications that act across crypto and traditional markets.
- Rival exchanges are also integrating AI agents; Coinbase launched its platform earlier this year, while Kraken and OKX introduced open-source toolkits using Model Context Protocol. The competitive push reflects industry-wide momentum toward agentic finance.
- Industry leaders including Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong and Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire anticipate AI Agents will soon account for significant on-chain activity. Binance co-founder Changpeng Zhao described cryptocurrency as the "native currency" of AI Agents.
