Bentley unveils its first fully electric car
The luxury SUV uses a dual-motor powertrain, 113 kWh battery and 800-volt charging, and Bentley says it is its most powerful production car.
- On Wednesday, Bentley Motors officially unveiled the Torcal in London, its first fully electric production SUV and fourth model line joining the Continental GT, Flying Spur, and Bentayga.
- Bentley invested £350 million to upgrade its historic Crewe headquarters for Torcal production, a project Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds said will "support 4,000 high-value local jobs in Crewe".
- Delivering up to 876 horsepower, the Torcal S features a 113 kWh battery and dual-motor powertrain, achieving 0–60 mph in 2.8 seconds, Bentley stated.
- Positioning the SUV as a "more affordable Bentley", CEO Frank-Steffen Walliser expects the model to reach new customers, with "approximately 50% are new to the brand", he noted.
- First deliveries are expected in the second quarter of 2027, with the SUV arriving in the United States as a 2028 model, marking a strategic pivot toward electrified luxury.
