Farmers and producers are in despair as within a few hours they saw thousands of acres disappear under tons of water with the Lassithi Plateau experiencing a biblical disaster. Government officials conducted an autopsy on the affected areas today.

The government team was found in the flooded fields - Yiannis Andrianos spoke of "total destruction", while the producers are demanding immediate 100% compensation and warning that without support they will not be able to cultivate again

A government delegation with executives and the Deputy Minister of Rural Development visited the Lassithi Plateau after the devastating floods, noting enormous damage. Actions are being initiated to support and compensate producers.
