- Union Consumer Affairs Secretary Nidhi Khare blamed "black marketing, hoarding and profiteering" for rising onion costs, asserting that sufficient stocks exist to meet festive season demand without export bans.
- Distribution also includes 100 Kendriya Bhandar outlets alongside mobile vans and stores operated by NAFED and NCCF to ensure adequate availability for consumers across the capital.
- Farmers' leader Rakesh Tikait criticized the intervention, noting that earlier farmers received prices as low as ₹1 per kilogram and arguing the government should have procured onions at ₹10 per kilogram.
- The government is utilizing a hybrid transport model combining road networks and railway rakes, including the Kanda Express initiative, which moves buffer onions from production regions like Nashik to major consumption centers.
