Bandidos Bikie Member Arrested Amid Firebombing Probe
Taskforce Echo detectives arrested several men, including a patched Bandidos member, after a firebombing that left one suspect with life-altering burns.
Victoria Police executed a warrant on Friday at the Bandidos OMCG clubhouse at Greenbank Court in Delacombe, Ballarat, as part of an ongoing arson investigation. Police stated, "One of the warrants was executed a short time ago at the Bandidos OMCG clubhouse at Greenbank Court in Delacombe."
The investigation follows a firebombing at Boss Tobacco in Melton on September 3, which left a 23-year-old man in critical condition with life-altering burns to his upper and lower body.
Detectives from Taskforce Echo arrested several men, including a 32-year-old patched Bandidos member, while police released CCTV footage last week showing one man engulfed in flames as his accomplice tried to shake fire off his burning sleeve.
Arson squad Detective Inspector Chris Murray vowed to hold the fugitive responsible for "ruining lives," hitting out at youth offenders carrying out violent attacks ordered by organised crime syndicates. The injured man remains in critical condition at the Alfred Hospital.
Police say the accomplice fled the scene, leaving his injured partner behind, and later abandoned their getaway vehicle alight on the Western Highway in Hopetoun Park. The investigation continues as authorities seek the fugitive.
