Amex Gold achieves key milestone at Quebec project – Resource World Magazine
Amex Gold Mining Inc. [AMX-TSXV, AMXEF-OTCQX, MXO-FSE] said it has officially filed Project Notice for the Perron Gold Mine with Quebec’s Environment Ministry. The company said the move represents another significant milestone in advancing the Perron Project toward commercial production. It formally initiates Quebec’s environmental assessment process for the proposed mine and reflects the company’s continued execution of its development strategy. The Project Notice provides government authorities with a comprehensive overview of the proposed mining operation, including the underground mine, surface infrastructure, environmental setting and overall project design. “The submission of the Project Notice is another important step as we move toward developing one of Canada’s premier high-grade gold projects,’’ said Amex President and CEO Victore Cantore. The 100%-owned Perron Gold Project is located approximately 110 kilometres north of Rouyn-Noranda, Que. The proposed mine is based on a positive feasibility study released earlier this year and contemplates a high-grade underground mining operation with mineral processing at an existing regional mill. This development strategy is designed to leverage Perron’s exceptional grade while reducing initial capital requirements and accelerating the path towards commercial production. The feasibility study envisages average annual production of 147,000 ounces of gold at an all-in-sustaining cost of US$910 an ounce. It also forsees a low initial capital cost estimate of $193.9 million. During the pre-production period, $68.1 million of revenue is expected to be generated which could offset some of the required capital. The feasibility study includes 1,989 million tonnes at a grade of 12.1 g/t. In parallel with the environmental assessment process, Amex continues to advance construction of its fully permitted 40,000-tonne bulk sample program, which is expected to generate valuable geological, geotechnical, metallurgical and operational information while further supporting future mine development and optimization. The Perron project consists of 183 contiguous claims covering a service area of 65.75 kilometres. The project hosts both bulk-tonnage and high grade gold mineralization styles. When combined with the adjacent and contiguous Perron West and Hepburn projects (including additional claims acquired through staking) in Ontario, the consolidated land package spans a district-scale 501.08 square kilometres. The project is accessible by year-round road, located just 30 kilometres from an airport and is in close proximity to several processing plants owned by several gold producers. Back on June 18 2026, Amex said it had raised almost $80 million from a non brokered private placement financing. The financing was backed by Eldorado Gold Corp. [ELD-TSX; EGO-NYSE] in keeping with the terms of an investor rights agreement dated January, 2024. On Thursday, Amex shares were down 1.6% or $0.07 to $4.39. The shares trade in a 52-week range of $5.34 and $1.91.
