A first phase of financing for the 800 km of road between Douala, Cameroon, and Bangui, in the Central African Republic, has just been announced by the World Bank and amounts to USD 425 million. The start of work on this section, commonly known as the Douala-Bangui economic corridor, is set for next year. 80% of the products to the Central African Republic, and 70% to Chad are transiting through this axis today in poor condition.
