In Latvia, electricity supply was disrupted for approximately 58,000 customers of electricity operator Sadales Tikls on Saturday evening, the company told news agency LETA.
In the Latvian capital Riga, rain caused flooding on Saturday afternoon, deputy mayor Edvards Ratnieks said on social media. In Lithuania, a fallen tree killed one person and left 155,000 households without power.
Also at 7 a.m., 46 out of more than 150 substations of the Latvian electricity transmission system operator AST were disrupted, five 330 kilovolt (kV) overhead power lines and 44 lines with a voltage of 110 kV were damaged. The operation of three 110 kV overhead lines has already been restored.
