Colombian President Declares Economic Emergency to Deal With Devastating Earthquake

The decree lets officials use emergency fiscal and credit measures after the quake caused more than $9.5 billion in damage, the government said.

Colombian President Abelardo de la Espriella signed on Wednesday the decree declaring an “economic emergency” to deal with the ravages of the devastating 7.4 magnitude earthquake that shook the country last week.
