Testing has begun on the first of 11 new FLIRT InterCity trains being built for Hungarian–Austrian railway company GYSEV, Transport and Investment Minister Dávid Vitézy said on Monday.
Testing of the first FLIRT InterCity multiple unit for GYSEV has begun, and part of the fleet of 11 new trains may enter service in the second half of 2027, wrote Minister of Transport and Investment Dávid Vitézy. The first fully completed multiple units are expected to arrive in Hungary at the end of 2026, and may enter service after domestic test operation.
