Half of the Senate is renewed this Sunday. The stability of the upper chamber is increasingly attracting elected officials, in a context where there has been no more absolute majority in the Assembly since 2022.
This Sunday, as every three years, half of the French Senate is renewed. These are the last national elections before the presidential elections of 2027. The great balances of the upper chamber should not fundamentally move, but significant developments are still expected, in connection with the results of the last municipal elections.
The Senate elections will be held on Sunday, 27 September. To renew the 178 seats at stake, they are 1,685 candidates.
