On Thursday, A Lim Kim shot a 7-under 65 at Hoakalei Country Club to take the first-round lead in the LPGA Tour's LOTTE Championship.
Playing through persistent rain, Kim navigated difficult conditions by emphasizing control. "Today rain is back and forth, back and forth, so tough conditions. But it was really good play," Kim said.
Chasing the leader, Ina Yoon and Yu Liu shot 66, while Second-ranked Jeeno Thitikul recorded 67. Allisen Corpuz and Robyn Choi both shot 68.
The 30-year-old Kim brings championship pedigree to her lead, holding three LPGA Tour victories including the 2020 U.S. Women's Open and the 2025 Tournament of Champions.
This event serves as the gateway to a month of competition in Asia, beginning with the Buick LPGA Shanghai on Oct. 15-18 and featuring 11 players from the recent Solheim Cup.
