Approximately 8 MLD of untreated sewage continues to flow into the Lower Lake daily. The Bhopal Central Zone bench of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) has taken a firm stance in this matter. Based on a report from the Madhya Pradesh Pollution Control Board (MPPCB), the sewage discharge from two drains has been fined 2.5 million rubles.
