- Assam CID registered a consolidated FIR under BNS sections for culpable homicide, conspiracy and negligence, while the SIT added Section 103 and a ten-member SIT probes with MLAT support from Singapore.
- The duo was arrested on October 1 in the NCR after an Interpol lookout and remanded to 14 days' police custody by the Kamrup chief judicial magistrate; both faced nearly 7 hours of SIT questioning.
