Pantemis’ Record Day Not Enough for Portland Timbers Win at Salt Lake

On Saturday, Real Salt Lake defeated the Portland Timbers 2-0, with teenager Zavier Gozo and Diego Luna scoring first-half goals to secure the home victory.
Defender Juan Manuel Sanabria provided assists for both goals, setting up Gozo in the 10th minute and Luna eight minutes later for a commanding two-goal advantage.
Goalkeeper Rafael Cabral secured his first clean sheet of the season with two saves, while Portland goalkeeper James Pantemis matched his career high with nine saves.
This victory improves Real Salt Lake's home record to 6-1-0, moving the club to a 6-3-1 overall standing while snapping a two-game losing skid.
Real Salt Lake visits Dallas next Saturday, while Portland returns to host Sporting Kansas City following the Timbers' recent road win against San Diego.
