Whitby Council is approving amendments to the Rules of Procedure By-law to allow the public to record committee and council meetings with their personal devices. Council says the move was made to “modernize the town’s approach to transparency, while maintaining a safe and orderly environment for council and committee meetings.” Safeguards have been put in place to make sure public recording doesn’t disrupt any meetings.
