Yamashita takes 6-shot lead into today’s final round at CPKC Women’s Open

On Sunday, Miyu Yamashita of Japan enters the final round of the CPKC Women's Open in Edmonton with a six-shot lead, having set a tournament record three-round total of 191 at Royal Mayfair Golf Club.
Consistent performance propelled Yamashita's lead, as she fired a 5-under 65 on Saturday following a course-record 62 on Thursday and a 64 on Friday.
American Gina Kim and Yuri Yoshida of Japan are tied for second at 13 under, with American Jennifer Kupcho in fourth at 12 under; teenager Aphrodite Deng of Calgary leads the Canadian contingent at 10 under.
The 25-year-old Japanese player—one of professional golf's shortest at 4-foot-11—won the Meijer LPGA Classic in June, alongside the Women's British Open and Maybank Championship last season as rookie of the year.
Defending champion Brooke Henderson of Smiths Falls, Ont., and Anna Huang of Vancouver remain in contention at 7 under, rounding out notable Canadian performances at Royal Mayfair.
