- During the RGG Summit 2025 livestream, SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio unveiled Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties, with a February 12, 2026 release on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC .
- Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio rebuilt the 2009 PS3 original Yakuza 3 using the Dragon Engine to modernize visuals, combat, and cutscenes for the 20th anniversary this year.
- Dark Ties lets players control Yoshitaka Mine with boxing combat, while Kazuma Kiryu gains two fighting styles including the new Ryukyu Style weapon-based system.
- Kazuma Kiryu returns to Okinawa to run the Morning Glory Orphanage, facing threats from the Tojo Clan; new life-sim features, team-battle mode, and Ichiban Kasuga Legendary Lad DLC expand gameplay.
- Beyond Kiwami 3, RGG Studio is expanding the franchise with Yakuza Kiwami 1 and 2 arriving on Nintendo Switch 2 November 13, 2025, ports on December 8, 2025, plus a live-action adaptation, Virtua Fighter project, and Stranger Than Heaven.
