Emergency crews installed a 1,000-foot bypass after a 30-inch sewer main collapsed near Germantown Elementary School, with repairs advancing and road closures ongoing, officials said.

A temporary bypass will begin pumping wastewater Friday, around the site of the collapse of a 30-inch sewer main in Germantown, Maryland.
