- TSMC maintained a 72.5% global foundry market share in the second quarter, according to TrendForce Wednesday data, significantly outpacing Samsung Foundry at 5.9% and China's SMIC at 5.4%.
- During the second-quarter earnings call, TSMC reported a more than 77% year-on-year profit jump and forecasted third-quarter revenue between $44.6 billion and $45.8 billion.
- Separately, TSMC and Dutch chip equipment giant ASML announced an initiative to advance next-generation chipmaking technology, with plans to deploy High technology for advanced nodes starting in 2030.
