The world’s largest compressed air energy storage facility has reached full operation in underground salt caves in eastern China’s Jiangsu Province. The Power Generation by Compressed Air Energy Storage Project in Sal Guoxin Suyan Huai’an Caverns has an installed power of 600 megawatts (MW) and a storage capacity of 2.4 gigawatt hours (GWh), equivalent to four hours of energy storage.
